Catalina Maldonado continued her hot season on Thursday, pitching a shutout and the Warriors gave her plenty of run support in an 18-0 Frontier League win over Malibu.
Maldonado ( 12-3) threw a two-hiitter, a type of performance she’s grown accustomed to throughout the season. She struck out 10 in the five-ining mercy-rule game.
Catcher Myriah Diaz contibuted at the plate with a triple and a solo homer.
Carpinteria put together 10 runs in the first off several singles, multiple walks, and solid base running.
“We really ran the bases well,” said coach Henry Gonzalez. “I think it was a good team victory, everyone contibuted. We played the way were suppose to play.”
Carpinteria remains undefeated in the Frontier league (6-0), and moved to 16-3 overall. They look to continue their league win streak against Bishop Diego on Tuesday.
