Dos Pueblos Little League and Goleta Valley South Little League are teaming up to support Bryan Stow, the San Francisco Giants fan severely beaten in the parking lot at the Los Angeles Dodgers’ home opener.
Both leagues will hold benefit car washes Saturday, April 30, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Mobil gas station, 49 Glen Annie Road. A second location is still being sought.
“We hope to show community support while teaching the kids and showing the public that it’s only a game and it doesn’t matter who you play for or are a fan of,” says organizer and DPLL board member Barbara Marlett.
Players, coaches and other volunteers will be working at the car wash. Tickets, which cost $10, are available at Girsh Park during all DPLL baseball games. Please make checks payable to: Bryan Stow Fund.
