Niall Platt became the first Notre Dame golfer to be selected as the Big East Conference Freshman of the Year.
Platt, a 2010 graduate of Laguna Blanca, was the highest freshman finisher at the Big East Championship, shooting a three-round score of 218 (+5) to tie for sixth place, helping the Irish win the team title.
He finished the regular season with four top-five finishes in 10 tournaments played, placing as high as second at The Invitational at Kiawah. Platt was the only freshman selected to the All-Big East team.
