Freshman Halie Johnson and Ashley Wagner each won two events, and the San Marcos girls swim team beat Buena for only the second time in seven years on Wednesday.
The Royals won 111-69. The San Marcos boys fell short against the Bulldogs, 99-84.
Johnson captured the 200 freestyle (2:11.78) and the 500 freestyle (5:57.58) in personal best times.Wagner took the 200 IM (2:24.81) and 100 back (1:05.93).
In diving, Alex Brown and Emilee Mahoney went 1-2.
The Royals won the 4×50 and 4×100 relays.
On the boys side, Jorge Flores won the 200 IM (2:22.39), Abhi Frandsen took the 50 free (23.75), John Errico captured the 100 back (1:05.18), and Jackson Mann won the 1-meter diving event for the Royals.
“Overall, I think that we swam pretty well today, posting many best times of the season,” coach Jeff Ashton said. “Unfortunately, we came up a little short.”
San Marcos is 2-3 overall.
