Nordhoff baseball rallied in the final inning to defeat Carpinteria 5-3 on Friday in a game where the Warriors’ Trevor Madden left the game with an injury.
Madden felt severe pain in his elbow with one out in the sixth. Max Damron (1-1) came in to finish off the game.

With the score tied 2-2 in seventh, Nordhoff was able to come away with three runs off three hits and two costly errors from the Warriors.
“We’re going through a hard time. We seem to have contagious losing. We out-hit them, out-pitched them, but we made costly mistakes throughout the game,” explained Carpinteria coach Pat Cooney.
Marcus Hutchinson was 2-for-2 with one RBI, while Zach Boberg pitched in by going 2-3 with one RBI and Brandon Blum went 3-3.
Carpinteria fell to 6-11 overall and 1-7 in the Tri-Valley. It heads to Oaks Christian on Wednesday.
