Chris Grant and Logan Liddell set the tone early for Santa Barbara High’s tennis team in its 13-5 win over rival San Marcos.
Grant-Liddell dominted the Royals No. 1 doubles team 6-0, as the Dons improved to 6-0 in the Channel League.
In singles, No. 2 Graham Maassen of Santa Barbara outlasted San Marcos’ top player, Petar Jivkov, 6-4, in the first round, and the Dons jumped out to a 6-0 lead. They led 12-0 after the second round.
“It was a great team effort all around as Santa Barbara was able to play 17 players in the match,” said Dons coach Greg Tebbe.
Santa Barbara is 9-1 overall while San Marcos is 10-4 overall and 4-2 in the Channel League.
