In effort to improve its baseball postseason chances, UCSB added a game against nationally ranked UCLA.
The game will be played on Wednesday, May 11 at 6 p.m. at UCLA.
The Gauchos added the game after having lost three rainouts vs. La Salle, a snowout at Washington State and another rainout vs. Nevada.
UCLA is ranked as high as No. 13 by Collegiate Baseball Today. The Bruins are 21-14 overall. UCSB is 17-17 overall.
“This is a great opportunity for us to add a game against a quality opponent,” UCSB head coach Bob Brontsema said. “This is a chance to help out our RPI. It’s the time of the year when wins are very important as we make a bid for a regional berth.”
