Austin Bull, a pitcher for the Reds, a Major Division team in the Dos Pueblos Little League , struck out 16 batters in an 11-1 no-hit victory over the Dodgers on Monday at Girsh Park.
Bull, 12, struck out the first 10 hitters he faced. He was lifted one batter shy of a complete game because he reached the limit on the number of pitches allowed by a player in a Little League game.
Bull threw 89 pitches. International Little League rules cap the number of pitches a 12-year old can throw to 85 a game, though they are allowed to complete an at bat that was started prior to reaching the limit.
Bull also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored.
