Dos Pueblos allowed 10 hits but gave up zero runs to beat Camarillo High 1-0 in 11 innings on Tuesday in a non-league softball game.
Camarillo, a Division 1 team, had runners on base in seven of the 11 innings but was unable to score due to an undaunted defensive performance by the Chargers.
“There was incredible defense played by both teams today,” said DP coach Donn Roberts. “Our defense came through for an incredible win.”
Dos Pueblos won it in the 11th inning with a single from Chloe Madill and a run-scoring double by Jordan Roberts.
Junior Hannah Harris pitched a complete game for the Chargers, facing 41 batters for the game. Harris struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter.
Agnetta Cleland had a 17-pitch at-bat late in the game against Camarillo pitcher Sara Shadinger before Madill and Roberts’ timely hits to win the game.
“Agnetta really battled and wore out their pitcher. After that we were able to get some runs,” said Roberts.
Dos Pueblos moved to 7-4 overall.
The Chargers’ next game is Thursday at Santa Barbara.
