Santa Barbara High baseball got off to a bad start defensively in an 11-6 tournament loss against Mission Viejo on Tuesday.
Mission Viejo scored three runs off two errors in the first inning.
After opening the Anaheim Lions tournament with a win, the Dons have now lost three straight, all in similar fashion.
“We’ve ended up trying to come from behind these last three games. It’s hard to do against good pitching,” said assistant coach Mike Cooney.
Collin Dewell pitched the first five innings for the Dons. At the plate, he had three hits, including two doubles. Spencer Fraker and Cameron Gniadek each pitched in with two hits
The Dons are 11-4 overall, and 1-3 in the Anaheim Lions Tournament.
Santa Barbara continues the tournament on Wednesday at 10 a.m. against Bountiful, a team from Utah.
