Both Santa Barbara’s boys and girls teams came out on top in Thursday’s dual swim meet against Ventura, as the girls won 94-76, and the boys won in a close 94.5-88.5 victory.
The Dons earned a combined five first-place finishes in freestyle races between the boys and girls.
Kelsey O’Brein was a big reason for the girls’ marginal victory, swimming her career best in both the 50 freestyle (24.62) and the 100 freestyle (53.99). O’Brien also raced on two winning relay teams.
Lizzie Casier also finished with two wins in the 100 fly and 500 freestyle. Sophie Trabucco took the 200 freestyle, and finished second behind Casier in the 500 freestyle.
The boys team was led by their divers, with top three finishes by Grayson Delgado (1st), Jacob Glasson (2nd), and Diego Melgoza (3rd).
Peter Loomis placed first in the 100 fly, and Tarry Burkhardt won the 100 breaststroke. Mark Davis rounded off the first-place finishes for the Dons in the 100 freestyle.
