Santa Barbara’s tennis players came through in crunch time to pull out a 10-8 win at Beverly Hills on Wednesday.
With the score knotted at 6-6 after the second round, Graham Maassen beat Beverly Hills’ No. 1 player 6-4 to give the No. 7-ranked Dons a huge boost. In doubles, the freshman duo of Morgan Hale and Jack Damen knocked off the Normans’ top team in the final round, giving them a 3-0 record on the day.
“Our players played their best tennis in the final round, which is what you love to see as a coach,” said Dons coach Greg Tebbe, whose team improves to 5-1.
