The weather conditions ran the gamut on Saturday for the Are You Tough Enough 65-mile footrace.
Runners experience dense fog, cold, sunny, hot and cool conditions going from Toro Canyon Park to Nojoqui Falls County Park.
Scott Young, running the event for the fourth time, was the top soloist, finishing in 11 hours, 10 minutes. John Hoenigman came in a close second in 11:38. Mauricio Puerto and Garret Headley, two late entries, finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in 13:47 and 14:38. The third finisher was the two-person team of Jen Paludi and Jerremy Ditlove in 12:14.
In the relays, The Delusional 3-peat was the top finisher in 7:15. Team members were Leif Reynolds, Scott Ingraham, Dave Saunders, Joe Nordin and Phil Brock. Will Rossow’s Los Amigos de Goleta finished next in 7:22.
We’re the Fugawi?!?! was the top mixed team in 7:27. The team consisted of Scott DeVore, Steve Hading, Dana Battaglia, China Cisney and John Loftus.
CARE 4 PAWS was the first women’s-only team in 9:07. The five runners were Isabelle Gullo, Therese Bjork, Megan Riker-Rheinschild, Nancy Reynolds and Marla Randall.
