Dos Pueblos won its eighth straight Channel League game by topping Santa Barbara 6-3 on Friday, at Santa Barbara.
The Chargers moved to 8-0 in league, Santa Barbara dropped to 0-8.
Hannah Harris pitched a complete game for the Chargers, striking out 11 batters with no walks.
Harris was also productive offensively with two scored runs.
Dos Pueblos started the first inning with two runs off a sacrifice fly from Agnetta Cleland and an RBI single from Ashlynd Williams.
The Chargers added two more runs in the fourth off three singles and a Cleland walk with the bases loaded.
Santa Barbara’s Angela Biancone pulled out a clutch play in the bottom of the fourth, scoring Madison Dochterman and Talia Quevedo on a drive to deep right center to cut the lead to 4-2
Cleland and Williams answered back in the sixth with another sacrifice fly by Cleland and an RBI ground-out by Williams.
Santa Barbara scored its final run on the bottom of the sixth to bring the score to 6-3.
Jordan Roberts had a strong performance for Dos Pueblos, going 3-3 with 3 RBIs and one run scored. Marisa Radeke played catcher for her first time this season. She went 2-for-2 with a walk
Brisaly Balderas pitched the first four innings for Santa Barbara and Grace Apostolopoulos finished off the final three innings.
“I was so proud of how our team competed and it’s always fun to coach great games like today,” Santa Barbara coach Alex Sheldon said. “Our defense was outstanding, making no errors. Brisaly Balderas and Grace Apostolopoulos were terrific on the mound, and we got timely hitting against a very good pitcher, especially from Talia Quevedo, Angela Biancone, Antonia Becerra and Ruby Palomares.”
Dos Pueblos is 14-8 overall while Santa Barbara stands at 6-16
The Dons play Ventura at home on Tuesday, and Dos Pueblos welcomes Buena.
