Four local baseball teams are amongst their division’s best this year, with Santa Barbara, Dos Pueblos, Bishop Diego and Cate showing up in Monday’s CIF Polls.
While the Dons, Chargers, and Cardinals sit on the edge of their respective divisions, Cate’s Rams are the No. 3 team in Division VII thanks to an unbeaten 10-0 start to the season. Santa Barbara and Dos Pueblos are both in Division II and play each other twice next week.
The softball teams at Dos Pueblos (Div. IV) and Carpinteria (Div. VI) are both ranked No. 5. The Chargers are just ahead of Channel League rival Buena, which is No. 7.
In boys volleyball, the Dons are No. 9 in Division I after a seventh place finish at the Tournament of Champions. The triumphant title-holder, Santa Margarita, is No. 1 in the division followed by Mira Costa.
The Dons are also ranked in boys tennis, as is Cate. Santa Barbara is No. 6 in Division I while the Rams are No. 7 in Division IV.
