Chargers split at Thousand Oaks tourney

Dos Pueblos split its doubleheader on Saturday at the Thousand Oaks softball tournament, beating Kennedy 9-2 and losing to the hosts 4-1.

The Chargers had a hot start in the first game, scoring 5 runs in the first inning against Kennedy, a team from Granada Hills. Chloe Madill started the scoring run with her first home run of the season.

Hannah Harris pitched both complete games, striking out seven in the first of the doubleheader.

Amber Altavilla had her first multiple hit game this season against Kennedy, going 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Haley Peterson led the hitting attack, going 2-3 with 3 RBIs and one run scored.

Dos Pueblos scored early again against T.O., but wasn’t able to capatilize the rest of the game.

“We had a tough time hitting in the second game of the day. We had such great succes in the first game and unfortunatly it did not carry over to this game,” said coach Donn Roberts

Roberts looked on the bright side of the split in a tough tournament

“We played in the Thousand Oaks tournament for the first time. Most of the schools participating are in Division 1 or 2, or in the City Section, all solid teams. After today we know we can compete with them.”

Dos Pueblos remains 5-0 in league, and moved to 10-5 overall with the split.

The Chargers face Rio Mesa on Wednesday.

    boring.

  2. to goletalad—it isn’t boring for the parents of players. u are probably right that it might be boring to the average fan but the girls parents would disagree. if not for mom and dad nobody would be at the games.
