Cate baseball extended its win streak to five on Thursday, defeating New Community Jewish High School 8-5 at home.
Jackson Mauze was 2-2 with 3 RBIs and a solo home run in the fifth, while Justin Lucchesi was 3-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. Freshman Zach Ell finished 2-3 with an RBI.
Edan Zaga had two doubles for New Community Jewish.
“It’s been a good week for us. Beating Baptist on Tuesday was a big win, and we beat another good ball club today,” said coach Ben Soto. “Our pitching has been outstanding under pitching coach Micheal Beamer.”
Mauze picked up the win and Robert Fairbanks notched the save.
Cate looks to keep their win streak alive on Saturday against Besant Hill.
