Cate’s girls lacrosse swept the Condor League after defeating Thacher 13-8 on Tuesday, heading into the playoffs next week with a 4-0 league record.
Goalkeeper Alexx Tremena held the Toads scoreless for the first 17 minutes of the second half, allowing Cate’s offense to score four unanswered goals to add to their 1-0 halftime lead.
Alexis Hill led the offensive attack with six goals, one assists and three draw controls. Brennan Cusack had two goals, one assist and one draw control, while Lisa Huang pitched in with two goals and one draw control.
“Brennan Cusack was once again indispensable on both ends of the field, and Lisa Huang made nice plays all day,” said coach Linda Sommers. “Annie Weis played her heart out coast to coast, causing many Thacher turnovers.”
Abby Killea and Emily Nguyen rounded out the scoring with one goal each.
Cate (9-3) has only two remaining non-league match-ups, starting with Los Alamitos at home on Friday.
