Cate baseball won its eigth game in a row on Tuesday, defeating Newbury Park Adventist 15-5 in a 5-inning mercy-rule game.
Robert Fairbanks pitched a complete game for the Rams, allowing five runs, six hits while striking out nine. Fairbanks moves to 3-0 in the season.
The Rams moved to 8-0 overall.
Several players had strong performances offensively to help score 15 runs in five innings. George Luo was 2-3 and scored three runs, while Zach Ell was 2-2 with a double and three RBIs. Jackson Mauze had two doubles and three RBIs.
“We stayed aggressive on the bases. We also ran the bases really well and put a lot of pressure on them,” said coach Ben Soto.
Newbury Park struggled defensively, committing seven errors.
Cate ‘s next game is at home on Saturday against Orcutt Academy at 1 p.m.
