Carpinteria topped by Grace Brethren, 7-5

Trevor Madden and Brandon Blum combined for seven stolen bases, but Carpinteria baseball couldn’t steal the win against Grace Brethren on Tuesday, losing 7-5.

Madden was 2-for-3 with a RBI and stole four bases. Blum was 2-3 with 2 runs scored and three stolen bases.

With the game tied at 4 after four innings, Grace Brethren capitalized on errors and broke through with three runs in the fifth.

The Warriors were never able to rally back.

Max Damron stepped up to the mound and finished the final two innings, shutting out Grace Brethren’s final batters and allowing only one hit. Starter Colton Rubio suffered the loss.

The Warriors moved to 6-8 overall and 1-4 in the Tri-Valley League.
