Carpinteria golf continues its winning ways in the Frontier League, coming out on top in Thursday’s match-up at Elkins Ranch in Fillmore. With the win, the Warriors stay in first place and move to 11-3 overall.
Carpinteria ended the day with a combined score of 438, 10 strokes less than second place Villanova, who had medalist Myles Velamora shooting an 82 for the day.
Joey Biro led the way for the Warriors with an 85, the second lowest score of the day. Biro unfortunately did not get his score card checked properly, costing him two strokes on what would have been an 83. Still, the score of 85 is Biro’s best in his high school career.
Ian Praddock and Mak Vincent both shot an 87, while Jeffrey Moorhouse finished with an 88.
This is the third straight week of their lowest scores since coach Steve Benson took over three years ago.
“I’m thrilled with this team. They keep getting better and better, you can tell by their scores,” said Benson.
Carpinteria will host the next Frontier League match next Thursday at Montecito Country Club.
