Carpinteria loses heartbreaker at Grace Brethren

Carpinteria had the tying run thrown out at the plate in the seventh inning and lost 3-2 at Grace Brethren in at Tri-Valley League baseball game on Thursday.

The Warriors scored a run and had the bases loaded with one out when Tommy Arellano flew out to medium center field. Marcus Hutchinson attempted to score from third but was tagged out by the catcher to end the game.

Brandon Blum scored in the fifth inning for Carpinteria on a double-steal with Hutchinson.

Grace Brethren capitalized on lead-off walks to score runs in the third and sixth innings.

Carpinteria starter Trevor Madden struggled with his control, walking seven.He did strike out eight and allowed only three hits.

The Warriors fall to 6-9 and 1-5 in the TVL
