Tyler Thomas topped Regis Fastrez 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 and John Rosenkvist fell 7-5, 7-5 at No. 4. Troy Akin and Justin Kautz recorded singles wins for the Vaqueros (0-6, 0-4). Fastrez-Rob Herr and Akin-Che Borja collected doubles wins.
“It was another close one,” said SBCC coach Ryan Heinberg. “The guys battled hard and we had our opportunities.”
After taking next week off, the Vaqueros open the second round of WSC play on Tuesday, March 22 at Glendale.
