Cate’s girls lacrosse team erased an early deficit on Wednesday, eventually pocketing an 11-8 victory over visiting Oak Park.
Alexis Hill led Cate in scoring with five goals and Brennan Cusack added three more. Annie Weis scored two more and Lisa Huang found the back of the net once. Hill and Cusack won four draws each.
After falling behind 4-2 in the first half, Cate rallied to take an 11-5 lead.
“Excellent play by defenders Angela Lee, Kate Groetzinger, Izzy Tejeda and Eliza Giles kept us in the game,” said Rams assistant coach Linda Sommers. “And Grace Gail, Taylor Erling, Emily Nguyen and Abby Killea all were huge contributors for us today.”
Cate, which plays again on Saturday at Thousand Oaks, is 4-3 overall and 1-0 in league.
