Palos Verdes flexed its muscles in singles, winning nine sets en route to a 12-6 win over Santa Barbara in a non-league boys tennis match on Tuesday.
“The singles players for Palos Verdes were just too strong for us today,” Santa Barbara coach Greg Tebbe said. “All three of them are highly ranked players and they proved the difference in the match.”
In doubles, Sammer Aziz and Logan Liddell won three sets, while Morgan Hale and Jack Damen won their lone set together.
“I was pleased with the performance of the Santa Barbara doubles teams which were led by Sammer Aziz and Logan Liddell who went 3-0 on the day against a very strong lineup from Palos Verdes,” said Tebbe.
“Overall it was an extremely competitive match and this experience will help our young team get ready for league play which starts next Tuesday at Buena,” Tebbe said.
The Dons are 4-2 on the season, while PV is 1-0.
