Presidio Sports unveils new ‘Sports Figure of the Month’ award

Dear Readers,

Presidio Sports has named its first “Sports Figure of the Month” this week, unveiling a new monthly award that recognizes a local sports figure for their extraordinary contribution to the Santa Barbara athletic community.

It is our way to recognize those who have made a positive impact, whether it is an outstanding athletic performance, a lifetime achievement award, or perhaps a philanthropic athletic booster. While much of our content revolves around wins and losses, it is our goal to make sure we highlight those in our sports community who make a lasting impression.

Presidio Sports would like to thank American Riviera Bank, a strong supporter of the local sports community, for making this award possible.

It just so happens that in the first month of the award, there was an athletic performance impossible to ignore. In fact, it’s hard to believe that it can ever be topped.

Dos Pueblos High School’s Kiley Neushul capped off an incredible prep water polo career on February 26, scoring nine goals in the CIF Division I title game to lead the Chargers to their fourth straight CIF championship. The senior was the backbone of a team that strung together a remarkable 67-straight victories. Read more about Kiley Here.

We look forward to naming more deserving individuals in the coming months and beyond. If you ever have any nominations, please email us at [email protected].

Have a great rest of the week Santa Barbara,

John Dvorak
