Laguna Blanca lost a marathon four-game volleyball match at St. Joseph, 32-30, 22-25, 25-16, 26-24.
“This was a different team compared to last week,” Laguna coach Dillan Bennett said. “These guys continue to get better and better with each game.”
Spencer Dusebout had 12 kills and 23 digs to lead the Owls (2-2), Peter Sorensen followed with nine kills, two blocks, and two service aces and J.T. Aubery had 36 digs.
“As a team, we have to remember three of our guys have never played before, including our starting setter (Connor Gray) and middle blocker (Peter Sorensen),” Bennett said. “What they are doing is phenomenal for guys who have never played before.”
Bennett added, “I was very pleased with our defense tonight. As a team, we had 16 blocks and 86 digs which is huge at any level. If we can do that more, we will be right there in contention at the end of the season.”
