Santa Barbara swept a Channel League swimming dual meet with San Marcos on Friday at Santa Barbara.
Kelsey O’Brien was a double winner for the Dons in the 50 and 100 freestyle, earning CIF consideration in both events. Jessica Gaffney won the 200 IM in a personal best and Sierra McNeel swam a personal best in the 100 backstroke to finish second.
For the boys, Luke Stark won the 500 free and finished second in the 100 fly. Tarry Burkhardt won the 100 breast and Peter Loomis won the 100 fly.
San Marcos’ girls posted 14 best times in the meet. Ashley Wagner won the 100 backstroke and was on the winning 200 medley relay ( Wagner, Riley, Depew, Thwing).
Dasha Depew finished second in the 200 freestyle, and 100 butterfly.
The Royals got a big performance from their divers. Senior Alex Brown led the way with a first-place finish (CIF consideration standard), and freshman newcomer Emilee Mahoney captured second place.
