Dos Pueblos scored three runs in the second inning and Hannah Harris pitched out of jams in the first, second and fourth to preserve a 3-1 Channel League softball victory over Ventura on Tuesday.
The Chargers improve to 2-0 in league and 5-4 overall. Ventura falls to 1-3, 3-6
In the second Haley Peterson doubled in Jordan Roberts for the first run and Marisa Radeke singled home Peterson for a 2-0 lead. Radeke stole second and moved to third on a single by Amber Altavilla. Radeke scored when Ventura threw the ball away trying to nail Altavilla, who was stealing second base.
Harris allowed a run in the fifth inning. She struck out nine and gave up five hits.
