Cate warmed up for its annual showdown with perennial boys lacrosse power Robert Louis Stevenson of Monterey by defeating Calabasas 15-5.
Wesley Greason scored six goals and added an assist and older brother Mackie Greason tacked on four goals and three assists in the season opener for the Rams.
Also chipping in were sophomore Kyle Mayfield with four goals and Austin Gallegos with his first ever CIF varsity goal.
Cate’s defense was led by Luke Shover, Jeremy Miller and Jack Langan.
Goalkeeper Jason Pachecho made 7 saves.
The Rams play RLS on Saturday at 11 a.m.
