The UCSB women’s tennis team had its four-match winning streak snapped by UT Arlington Friday, losing 6-1 at the Robertson Gymnasium Courts on campus.
The match originally scheduled for Sunday, was moved up to Friday due weather forecast predicting rain over the weekend.
Santa Barbara got off to a rough start losing all three doubles matches. Jill Damion and Kiersten Meehan were competitive at court No. 2, but dropped their match to Maria Martinez and Nikola Matovicova 8-5.
In singles, Paola Cos was the bright spot for the Gauchos winning in straight sets at court No. 5. Lozano and Meehan did hang around long enough to take the second sets from their opponents but fell short in their third set tiebreakers.
The Gauchos next match is Wednesday, March 23 Against Dartmouth beginning at 10 a.m. at the Robertson Gymnasium Courts on campus.
