Jay Larinan put away 10 kills to help Dos Pueblos sweep Oxnard, 25-19, 25-20, 25-16, in a non-league boys volleyball match Wednesday night.
“We did enough to get the win,” DP coach Chris Hughes said. “We were a little better tonight.”
Hughes was happy with the play of John Ellsworth (3 kills, 1 block) and sophomore Jackson Wopat (2 kills, 2 blocks).
The Chargers (2-1) are back in action Friday at the Best of the West Tourament in Poway. They are in a pool with Loyola, Palos Verdes and Oak Park.
“We’ll definitely be tested,” Hughes said. “This will be a good chance to get better as a team, and experiment to see what works.”
