Dos Pueblos couldn’t get a break and was blanked by Righetti 2-0 in a non-league softball game on Thursday.
The Chargers had a chance in the bottom of seventh, putting runners at second and third with no outs. But Righetti’s Katie Chenault recorded back-to-back strikeouts and then DP got caught trying to steal home on a passed ball to end the game.
Hannah Harris pitched a solid game for the Chargers, striking out 10 and not allowing a walk.
Offensively, “the team is struggling at the plate,” said coach Donn Roberts. “We will be working to turn that around next week.”
Dos Pueblos drops to 4-4.
