Santa Barbara High’s soccer team finished No. 2 in the final California State Rankings by ESPN RISE.
The Dons (22-6-3) were ranked behind San Clemente, the team that beat them in the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 final, 2-1. San Clemente also won the CIF Southern California Regional Division 1 title.
Santa Barbara rebounded from its loss and captured the Regional Division 2 championship, beating Oak Hills of Hesperia, 3-0.
Cate School, the undefeated (22-0-0) Southern Section Division 7 champion, was ranked seventh in the state poll. The Rams didn’t play in the regional tournament because the school was on spring break.??
