The windy conditions made things difficult for Santa Barbara and the other boy golf teams competing at the WolverEagle Invitational, hosted by Chaminade and Harvard Westlake at Saticoy Country Club on Tuesday.
Winds were gusting upwards of 35 MPH for most of the round.
Chaminade won the tournament with a 408, Santa Barbara took second at 416 and Servite was third at 423. Dos Pueblos finished seventh.
Kethan Reddy of Villa Park shot a 77 to earn medalist honors.Chaminade had three players, Nick Thomas, Jack Davis, and Justin De Los Santos, each shoot 78.
Santa Barbara was lea by Sean Searls’ 79 and Jonathan Collins’ 81. Mickey Kirby chipped in with an 83. Santa Barbara was one of only two teams (Servite) to not have a player shoot in the 90s or higher.
Dos Pueblos was lead by an 81 from Brett Patton.
“We are disappointed in how we played today but knew the conditions were tough,” Santa Barbara coach James Bedard said. “It is nice to know that we are not that far away from Chaminade but this is twice we have come up short against them. We need to pay attention to the details in our game and learn how to finish our rounds.”
