Colin Cole had an impressive first start as a varsity pitcher, blanking St. Bonaventure 2-0 in the Easton Tournament, to give Dos Pueblos its first baseball win of the season on Tuesday.
“He got a lot of ground balls,” DP coach Nate Mendoza said of the sophomore. “He did a good job getting ahead on the count.”
The Chargers scored their runs on a passed ball and an error. Ben York and Joe Huthsing scored the runs.
“We’ll take this one,” Mendoza. “It definitely wasn’t pretty. We didn’t strike out that much and played a lot of defense.”
The Chargers (1-2) play Thursday at home against El Camino.
