Santa Barbara High’s baseball team is the Southern Section’s new No. 1 squad in Division II, climbing into the top spot with an overall season record of 8-1.
The Dons actually took over the No. 1 ranking last week in a set of rankings that were issued late and not reported on by this website. Santa Barbara is followed by Yucaipa and Chaminade in the rankings. The Dons play Tuesday, hosting a league game against Ventura at 3:30 p.m.
Carpinteria’s softball team (5-3) is locked into its No. 5 ranking in Division VI.
Santa Barbara High’s boys volleyball team and boys tennis team are amongst the elite teams in Division I of their respective sports. Dons tennis is No. 7 while volleyball is No. 10. While neither team is at their highest ranking of the season, both teams are undefeated in Channel League play at Spring Break.
