Dos Pueblos and San Marcos swimmers begin the first leg of the 4 x 100 individual medley.
San Marcos and Dos Pueblos met on Friday in the first Channel League dual meet of the season.
Dos Pueblos’ boys and girls swim teams swept the Channel League dual meet with San Marcos on Friday, as DP won the boys meet 135-50 and the girls 122-63.
Josh Pighetti, Vincent Dodero and Janelle Nguyen were multiple event winners for the Chargers, who also won every varsity relay.
All three of the Chargers’ girls relay teams had times good for CIF consideration. Nguyen was on two of those teams and earned an automatic qualifying time individually in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.73.
Sophomore Dasha Depew won two events for San Marcos, grabbing first in the girls 100-yard freestyle and 200 free. Alex Brown also brought the Royals some points by winning the diving competition.
For the Royals boys, Ben Battles broke his PR in the 500 free by 10 seconds to place third. Abhi Frandsen collected a second place finish in the 100 freestyle and backstrokers John Errico and James Sweeney went second and third in the 100 back.
Dos Pueblos swims again on March 22 against Buena.
