Cate’s boys volleyball team was swept on Wednesday by a hard hitting Channel Islands, 25-17, 25-17, 25-17.
Michael Castaneda led the Rams with several kills, with help from setter Shyman Akula who led the team in assists. Castaneda also helped lead the Rams with tough defense against the big hitters in Channel Islands.
“Michael Castaneda did a great job in the middle, getting multiple big blocks against Channel Island hitters,” explained first year head coach Dan Matheson.
Cate’s Libero Jaemin Chun also had several big digs.
Cate’s next match up is against Nordhoff at home on Thursday
