Several Cate School’s varsity swimmers had their best times recorded on Thursday in a swim meet against Grace Brethren and St. Bonaventure. Cate’s Varsity girls won with a score of 93, while Grace Brethren came in a distant second with 38, and St. Bonaventure in third with 19. Varsity Boys were not so successful, finishing second behind St. Bonaventure, 64-56.
Cate freshman Caroline Montgomery finished with her best time of 2:14:53 in the 500 freestyle for her CIF consideration. Cate’s girls also took first place in the 200 free relay with a new personal best time of 1:55:62.
Cate senior Brian Warren dropped five seconds from his best time to 2:14:53 in the 200IM.
“Overall, the team swam great for where we are in the season,” said head coach Abby Acker. “We still have a lot of training to do, but we look forward toeven more best times.”
Cate’s next meet is at Fillmore April 6th at 3 p.m.
