Elias Munoz and Noah Tack, who led Bishop Diego on an amazing run to the school’s first CIF final in boys basketball, were honored as All-CIF Division 6AA first-team selections.
Munoz, a junior guard, was the Cardinals’ leading scorer, averaging 14.2 points per game. In the playoffs, he scored 21 points and made the game-winning basket in a double-overtime victory over Shalhevet; scored 15 points in a semifinal win over Orangewood Academy, and tallied 12 in the championship game loss to Valley Torah.
Tack, a senior forward, was huge in Bishop’s playoff run. He scored 12 points in a second-round win over Cal Lutheran, 19 against Shalhevet and 18 in the final against Valley Torah.
Valley Torah’s 6-foot-8 Aaron Lieberman was named the division’s player of the year.
