Bishop Diego volleyball swept Malibu on Thursday, starting with a commanding win in the first game, 25-9. The Cardinals finished off the Sharks 25-17, 25-17 in the Tri-Valley League match.
Johnny Brand led the way for Bishop Diego with a game-high eight kills and four blocks. Setter James Fazio finished the day with 25 assists and four aces.
Cardinals head coach Jason Donnelly also praised the performance of outside hitter Robert Connolly.
“Connolly had strong defense and passing today. It was one of his best matches yet,” he said.
The Cardinals improve to 9-4 overall and 2-1 in league play. Their next game is against Oaks Christian on Tuesday.
