SBCC sophomores Janelle Wong and Imelda Bealer have been named to the first-team All-Western State Conference North squad.
Wong, a former Dos Pueblos High standout, averaged 10 points, 4.8 rebounds and made 75 percent of her free throws. She had the second-most 3-pointers in the 14-team conference, making 63 of 201 for a 31.3 percentage.
Bealer, a 5-6 guard from Fairfax High in L.A., averaged nearly nine points, led the team in rebounds (6.3) and ranked No. 1 in WSC steals (4.0) and No. 5 in assists (4.2).
The Vaqueros went 20-10 overall and took fourth in the WSC North with a 7-5 mark. They’re making their sixth straight trip to the playoffs.
Santa Barbara was seeded 15th in the 18-team Southern Regional and will host No. 18 L.A. Trade Tech on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Trade Tech (15-11) finished fourth in the South Coast Conference.
The winner of Wednesday’s game will travel to No. 2 seed San Bernardino Valley (26-2) on Saturday.
