Ella Joines’ last second 3-pointer was off-target for The Master’s on Tuesday, securing a 70-68 overtime victory for Westmont’s women’s basketball team at Murchison Gym.
The victory keeps the 21st-ranked Warriors tied for third place in the GSAC standings with an 11-6 record. The Master’s falls to 9-8.
Angel Blanco scored seven of Westmont’s 12 points in overtime and also converted two free throws with 14 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. Blanco finished with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Vanessa Farias also scored 17 for Westmont and contributed a clutch 3-pointer in overtime.
The Warriors play again on Saturday at San Diego Christian.
