Sophomore Cristina Valdez helped the Carpinteria seniors go out winners in their last game Thursday, scoring both goals in a 2-1 Frontier League girls soccer victory over Fillmore.
Valdez scored in the first half and finished the game-winner with nine minutes to go in the game.
Carpinteria coach Lucy Carleton praised her five seniors.
“They all played really well,” she said. “Awesome passing, good defense, they definitely contributed to the win. It was a nice way to end the season.
The Warriors, who return several players next season, finished 4-6 in league play.
