San Marcos’ fourth-quarter rally came up one-point short on Monday, as the Royals dropped a non-league contest 47-46 at Thacher.
“Gosh, we looked good in that fourth quarter but we just couldn’t finish it off,” said Royals head coach Kristyn Miller.
The Royals, who were led in scoring by Desiree Porter-Ray’s 19, outscored the Toads 19-7 in the final quarter to almost come away with the victory.
Gabby Sandoval posted 11 points for San Marcos.
The Royals finish their season on Thursday with a Channel League game at Dos Pueblos.
