Kailey Snyder threw a two-hitter with nine strikeouts on Saturday as SBCC opened its softball campaign with an 8-0 win at Glendale. The game was called after five innings due to the 8-run rule.
Jasmyne Holmes, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, blasted a two-run homer in the third inning. Joan Cannon was 3-3 with a walk and her twin sister Laura was 2-3. Snyder and Carly Smith both had triples while Holmes drove in three runs.
Catcher Stephanie Bolanos had a two-run single during a four-run fifth inning.
The Vaqueros travel to Long Beach City on Tuesday for a 2 p.m. contest.
