The seniors led the way on their special night at Bishop Diego on Tuesday.
The upper class scored all but seven points for the Cardinals in a 74-66 Senior Night win over St. Bonaventure in a Tri-Valley League girls basketball game.
Kelsey Stimson scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the senior class and Bishop. Courtney Houston had 13 points and eight steals, Karina Valencia had 12 points and six rebounds, Allison Breuer had 10 points and eight rebounds, Essence Thornhill had six points and four assists and Sonia Arreola contributed four points.
“It was the best game Karina played all season,” Bishop coach Jeff Burich said. “She was a difference maker with her defense and rebounding, and she shot 6 for 6 from the floor. She played great.”
Burich was pleased how his players moved the basketball.
“We had 17 assists, which is a season high,”Burich said. “We did a good job attacking the basket and finding open players.”
The Cardinals (13-12) are 4-7 in league and tied for fourth place with Nordhoff. The play at Oak Park on Thursday.
