The San Marcos boys soccer team snapped a three-game losing streak with an impressive 2-0 victory over Buena on the Bulldogs’ home field Tuesday.
The Royals scored both goals off corner kicks. In the first half, Dillon Kraus headed in a perfect corner kick from Julio Garcia.
Early in the second half, Cody Martinez’ entry kick set up Ian Dahill with a header for the second goal.
Josh Taylor and Brian Shaw shared goalkeeping duties for San Marcos, which beat Buena for the second time this season.
They were supported by the strong backline defensive play of Ricky Lopez, Ryan Gilmore, Eli Harris and Luis Juanico.
San Marcos hosts Dos Pueblos next Tuesday in its final regular season game.
