Emilie Johnson’s hot shooting garnered her a Big West Player of the Week honor, the conference announced on Monday.
The junior scored 55 points in a pair of games last week, including a career-high 31 points effort on Thursday at Pacific. This is the third such honor for the Loomis, Calif. native.
Johnson opened her week with an 11 of 12 shooting performance at UOP, including four three-pointers, in the Gauchos’ 69-62 victory.
She also pulled in eight rebounds and had two assists vs. the Tigers.
On Saturday, Johnson poured in 24 points, including a career-high seven three-pointers, in a four-point defeat to UC Davis. Johnson tied her season-best with six assists in the game and had four rebounds.
She hit four of her three-pointers in the final 1:10 of the game to bring the Gauchos within striking distance.
